Love My Mattress!!

After a lifetime on coils w/ broken springs, I spent five happy years on my single XL M-1 medium. Now I have upsized to a queen Sombrio M-1 and shall live happily ever after!

The perfect non-toxic mattress for my toddler. Comfortable and safe. Very happy with my purchase and great customer service too.

Galiano M2

I just moved and decided I would invest in a quality new bed for myself. I chose the Galiano M2 with a firm base and medium topper. I'm very pleased with this purchase and sleep very well! I also supplemented with Fawcett's pillows and their wool mattress protector.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Fawcett Latex Mattresses made of?

All of our mattresses have 100% Natural Talalay Latex in them. While all of our mattress contain Natural Latex our Sombrio and Galiano mattress are all-latex mattresses meaning they have a single core of Latex Foam and contain no springs. These mattresses are designed with high-quality latex cores, ensuring durability, comfort, and natural breathability.

What is the difference between an all-latex and a hybrid mattress?

The key difference is that our hybrid mattresses include pocket coil springs whereas the all latex models feature a single latex core. Some people prefer the simple design and feel of all latex and others like the familiar feel of a mattress with springs. A lot of the decision comes down to personal preference. Our all-latex mattresses (Sombrio & Galiano) are fully flippable and can be used in adjustable bed frames since they are flexible. Some of our hybrid models like the Qualicum & Cumberland are fully flippable as well.

Which of your mattresses have natural latex in them?

Yes, both the Sombrio and Galiano all-latex mattresses are compatible with adjustable bed bases. The flexibility and resilience of natural latex make it ideal for use with adjustable frames.

What are the benefits of latex mattresses?

  • Pressure Relief & Support: Latex supports the body without sinking, promoting spinal alignment.
  • Breathability: Its open-cell structure and natural cooling properties help regulate temperature.
  • Durability: Latex is more durable than many other mattress materials, often lasting up to 15 years.
  • Hypoallergenic: Latex is naturally resistant to dust mites, mold, and bacteria

Do you offer free Canada shipping on your latex mattresses?

Yes, we do! All of our mattresses ship free across Canada (free shipping excludes: Yukon, NWT and Nunavut)

Is a latex mattress better than a foam mattress?

Natural Talalalay Latex mattresses are superior to memory foam mattresses becuase they are healthier for you, more breathable, resilient, longer-lasting and promote better spinal alignment. Latex is naturally cooler and more durable, while foam, especially memory foam, can trap heat and is petroleum-based.

Can I use the Sombrio or Galiano all-latex mattress with an adjustable bed?

To care for a latex mattress, it's essential to rotate it regularly to ensure even wear. Use a high quality mattress protector and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. Vacuum mattress as needed.

Are latex mattresses good for people with back pain?

Yes, latex mattresses are highly recommended for people with back pain because they offer excellent support and alignment for the spine, relieving pressure points and reducing discomfort.

How do you care for a latex mattress?

To care for a latex mattress, it's essential to rotate it regularly to ensure even wear. Use a high quality mattress protector and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. Vacuum mattress as needed.

Are organic mattresses better for your health?

Yes! Natural organic mattresses are made from non-toxic, hypoallergenic materials, reducing exposure to chemicals and allergens. They also offer better breathability and durability compared to traditional synthetic mattresses.

Do Fawcett organic mattresses come in different firmness levels?

Yes! Exclusively made in Canada, our mattresses are available in various firmness levels, allowing you to select the best support for a healthy sleep.

How long does an organic mattress last?

A high-quality organic mattress can last 15-20 years, significantly longer than traditional foam or spring mattresses.

What is the difference between Dunlop and Talalay latex?

Dunlop latex has a denser, firmer feel created through a simpler manufacturing process, making it ideal for mattress support layers. Talalay latex undergoes additional vacuum-sealing and freezing steps, resulting in a more consistent, softer foam commonly used as a comfort layer for superior pressure relief.

Are latex mattresses safe for people with latex allergies?

Natural latex mattresses are typically safe for most people with latex allergies because the latex doesn't come into direct contact with your skin—it's encased in cotton or wool covers. However, if you have a known latex allergy, consult your doctor before purchasing to discuss your specific risk factors.

Are latex mattresses hot to sleep on?

No, latex mattresses naturally sleep cooler than memory foam. The open-cell structure allows air to flow freely through the mattress, helping regulate temperature and wick away moisture throughout the night.

How long do natural latex mattresses last?

High-quality natural latex mattresses typically last 15-20 years with proper care, significantly longer than conventional innerspring (7-10 years) or memory foam mattresses (8-10 years). Their natural durability and resilience help them maintain shape and support over time. We back this with a 10-year warranty and recommend flipping or rotating every 6 months for optimal longevity.
