What’s in a Fawcett Mattress?
We believe that a quality mattress shouldn’t and doesn’t need to be complicated, so the answer is simple.
We use high thread count organic cotton ticking in all of our mattresses. This layer is the closest material to your body. So it is important to have it as natural as possible.
With the Oeko-Tex® STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless to human health. Our mattress ticking (outer layer), Fawcett sheets, Wool Kouchini Pillows and Duvets, are all Oeko-Tex® 100 Certified.
100% Natural Talalay Latex Rubber
Rubber trees are actually ‘tapped’ – like a maple tree is for syrup – and the liquid sap is folded, Vacuum injected, flash frozen and then vulcanized (baked) into a uniform bubble distribution.
The result? An incredibly resilient, long lasting and supportive natural product. It just so happens that Natural Talalay Latex is also temperature neutral. Not too warm and not too cold. It has a breathable structure which dissipates moisture and therefore has less chance for fungus and dust mites to develop
Organic Joma Wool®
Joma Wool® from New Zealand meets Oeko-Tex® STANDARD 100 for quality and is independently verified for traceability. The farmers meet the “five freedoms” for animal welfare. We stitch this wool together with our organic cotton, providing a natural fire retardant layer, avoiding toxic chemicals other mattresses may contain.
You probably already know wool’s amazing property that keeps us warm in the winter. But did you know in the Sahara Desert, Bedouins wear wool to keep them cool in the searing heat? Nothing beats mother nature!
4 of our hybrid mattresses feature highly durable and supportive high count individual pocket coil springs. Made in the USA from 100% recycled steel.
Our Quantum Edge springs reduce or eliminate that feeling of roll-off and create a consistent sleep surface all the way to the edge.
The coils are fabric-encased, allowing them to move independently of each other, providing familiar support with an addition of reduced motion transfer.
