Fully Flippable Mattress

The Qualicum, formerly known as our "Model Eight" - is a fully reversible "flippable" hand tufted hybrid mattress. A 6" Spring unit wrapped in cotton felt, with 2" of 100% Natural Talalay Latex on each side and as always a layer of Organic Cotton ticking quilted through Joma Wool®.

Unsurpassed Longevity

The traditional way of manufacturing this model ensures unsurpassed longevity and comfort levels. This is truly two mattresses in one package. Model 8 is a rare example of when the B Side is just as good as the A Side.

Hand-Tufted

We start the build by encapsulating a 6′′ individual pocket coil spring in a thick layer of natural cotton felt. Next we place 2 inches of 100% Natural Talalay Latex foam on each side followed by fastening our organic cotton and natural Joma Wool® quilt to it.

The next step for our Qualicum is tape edging. Then this mattress goes into our tufting press. This time intensive process ensures that all of the components will work together in perfect harmony for many years to come.

This mattress is also available with Dunlop GOLS Certified Organic latex rubber.

Warranty

Most mattress companies have complicated warranties that are full of small print and confusing legal jargon, but we want to keep it simple. Fawcett mattresses are covered by a simple 10 Year Warranty and 100 night comfort exchange. You can exchange your mattress for the same model of a different firmness or configuration for a fee of $499 including shipping. If you can return your existing Fawcett Mattress to a Fawcett retail location, and pick up the replacement mattress, then we will waive the $499 fee and the comfort exchange will have no cost to you. For areas within 30km of a Fawcett retail location, we can arrange delivery of the comfort exchange mattress, along with the pickup of the original mattress for $99.

What is a tufted mattress?

Tufting is a traditional process in which a large needle is pushed through the mattress in a systematic pattern with a heavy duty thread and is tied off into rosettes or “tufts”. This process is useful to hold various components of a layered mattress together. It also provides a pillowy undulating surface which some sleepers prefer.
